Position Summary: Graham Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Process Technician to support and optimize our production operations. This role focuses on developing, documenting, and improving process operation sequences across welding, machining, and assembly areas to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial fabrication techniques and a strong understanding of manufacturing workflows.
Key Results Areas by level of work:
Level II: Service – Coordinating “production” with problem solving and prevention
Resource management (material and people)
- Effectively and concisely coordinate with engineering and manufacturing
Process Sequencing
- Develop and maintain detailed process operation sequences for manufacturing tasks.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure logical, efficient workflows.
- Identify and recommend improvements to streamline operations.
Technical Support
- Assist in troubleshooting process-related issues on the shop floor.
- Support the introduction of new products and processes into production.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design engineers, weld engineers, quality assurance, supply chain and production supervisors.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action plans as required.
Resource scheduling, output management and reporting
- Create optimal process sequences based on design and manufacturing capabilities.
- Create routings for commercial major jobs and then expanding into other jobs as workload permits.
- Complete routings in ERP system
Documentation & Standards
- Create and update, process maps, routings and dependency diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout all operations.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of engineering and manufacturing as it pertains to design for manufacturability and process sequencing, and provide suggestions for improvement.
- Objectively evaluate improvement suggestions from team members, use the feedback to improve processes when prudent
Equipment & process maintenance
- Document processes within the function to ensure consistency in execution
Professional Development (self and reports)
- Demonstrate initiative, and respect for team members
- Follows up with supervisor on professional development goals and opportunities
Qualifications:
Education and Training
- High School Diploma
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering or related Science field preferred
Experience:
- 3+ years of manufacturing technician or manufacturing related process planning experience in an engineer to order environment
- 5+ years of fabrication experience (welding preferred) in lieu of manufacturing process technician planning experience in an engineer to order environment
Skills:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Experience reading technical drawings desired with a drive to be detail oriented and willingness to learn specification requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering product structures (bills of material) to incorporate all operations necessary to convert raw materials to finished products
- Ability to work independently, with minimal direction as a highly motivated self-starter and within a team oriented culture
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to operate cross functionally within the organization and drive product/process improvements throughout the process
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to create routings and other operations sequence related activities in an ERP system
- Must have proficiency in MS office applications including spreadsheet, word, and vision
- Ability and willingness to abide by set company policy

- Physical demands: Work conditions are typical for an office environment. The incumbent is required to be present on the shop floor at times to properly complete job tasks. Required to speak and communicate clearly with others.
- Mental demands: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to read, write, analyze data and reports, exercise judgment, develop plans, procedures and goals, present information to others and work under pressure.
- Work Environment: This job primarily operates in an office setting but also requires visiting shop floor to review and discuss manufacturing operations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is exposed to manufacturing and equipment noise and is expected to follow all PPE requirements while working in the fabrication areas.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to work in the U.S without sponsorship. Ability to obtain US government security clearance is desired.
