Maintenance Mechanic MANUFACTURING SULLIVAN COUNTY NY
MUST HAVE solid manufacturing experience who can both work independently and guide junior technicians when needed. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Work confidently with 480 V 3-phase power, VFDs, motors, pumps, and industrial control panels.
- Maintain and service electric induction furnaces, hydraulic presses, overhead cranes, generators, and switchgear.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and NFPA 70E requirements; help enforce OSHA compliance on the shop floor.
- Use CMMS software to log preventive maintenance and repair history.
- Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and standard power tools.
- Keep spare-parts inventory within budget and coordinate with vendors for critical supplies.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance calls to minimize downtime.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to maintenance helpers and collaborate with production supervisors.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with OSHA, environmental, and energy-management regulations.Forklift/aerial-lift certification and any relevant trade licenses are a plus.
- Associate degree in a technical field (or equivalent practical experience) preferred.
