Job Summary:
If you are a mechanically minded and experienced environmental professional, were looking for you! GEO is on the hunt for a Field Technician to join our growing team of operations personnel. The ideal candidate for this role will provide onsite support for our project in Holley, NY. The candidate will investigate, diagnose, and remedy equipment issues, conduct periodic maintenance, gather and submit soil samples. This is an excellent opportunity for a curious self-starter to develop their career in the environmental remediation industry and make the world greener.
Responsibilities:
- Provide field support in Holley, NY
- Work closely with Project Managers to maintain daily site performance
- Coordinate with other technicians to manage day-to-day site operations, including general maintenance and repairs
Investigate, diagnose, and troubleshoot system issues and challenges - Develop preventative measures to remedy issues and challenges
- Inspect and maintain remediation equipment
- Conduct periodic sampling according to a predetermined schedule
- Perform testing work including preparing samples, recording test results, and recording numerical and visual observations
- Operate light and heavy equipment and tools
- Maintain records in project logs and electronic databases
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Extensive applied knowledge of environmental engineering science
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Extensive industrial field service experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- 40hr HAZWOPER certification and current 8hr HAZWOPER preferred
Education and Experience:
- Two years of related experience are required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to traverse various types of terrain to collect soil samples
