Analytical Lab Technician
Lornamead is currently seeking an Analytical Lab Technician to join our team!
2nd shift: 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
About the Company:
Lornamead Products manufactures and supplies hair care, skin care, oral care, and bath products in America. The company also provides store brand toothpastes, oral analgesics and teeth whitening products to Food, Drug and Mass retailers in North America.
Your Challenge:
- Performing testing on raw materials and finished product (~90% of workload). This includes IR, pH, specific gravity, and assays
- Micro sampling on raw materials, finished products and retain samples
- Completing paperwork as required by internal processes
- Inputting data into logbooks, computer databases
- Performing calculations during analytical testing
- Performing GC and HPLC testing methods
- Sampling raw materials and finished products
- Cleaning lab equipment and workspace
- Water sampling for reverse osmosis, DI, and effluent water
- Completing validation testing
- Sampling for environmental sampling program
- Reading and executing tasks based on written methods and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Associate degree in chemical/physical or biological sciences preferred but not required
- Experience as a lab technician preferred with knowledge of basic lab equipment and techniques including but not limited to: use of an analytical balance, preparation of samples and standards, dilution techniques, pipetting, titration, use of pH or fluoride electrodes, and conducting daily calibrations checks.
- Experience preferred with analytical instrumentation such as FTIR, HPLC, GC, EDX, TOC
- Experience preferred with performing validations
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Strong organization and time management
- Able to perform routine testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, stability, and finished product for analytical quality attributes
- Capable of accurately, completely, and legibly documenting analysis and reporting results
- Experience reading and following SOPs
- Aptitude and willingness to learn new techniques
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, able multi-task and shift priorities
- Attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Able to maintain a safe, clean work environment
- Proficient in troubleshooting/investigations
