The Parts Utility Clerk position is pivotal in supporting Installation Technicians by researching, procuring, and distributing production parts and equipment on the shop floor. This role ensures a consistent flow of trucks through the shop by supplying the correct parts promptly through thorough research and documentation. Additionally, the Parts Clerk fulfills customer parts orders from the factory and directly from the customer, collaborating with Material Handlers to manage inventory layout and planning.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Kanban system for replenishment.
  • Manage overall inventory in the Parts Room.
  • Respond to the flag system (visual management).
  • Manage supplier V.M.I.
  • Fulfill internal and external customer parts orders.
  • Check-in upon arrival and complete door tags, delivery tickets, ensuring manual binders accompany trucks at departure.
  • Research missing parts/components.
  • Enter data into the ERP system.
  • Manage annual physical inventory.
  • Provide direction for Material Handler.
  • Participate in company Kaizen events.
  • Participate in facility 5S.
  • Manage staging of parts and equipment for upcoming tasks.

Essential Skills

  • Technological skills with knowledge of TCM software (ERP), Micro-tool (Web Based), 6-week forecast (Excel), and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A strong team player.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck confidently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in hydraulic systems, inventory control, ERP systems, data entry, and parts inventory

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 6am to 4:30pm, with opportunities to work additional hours on Fridays and volunteer for Saturdays for extra income. Attendance is crucial, especially in the first 60 days, with a strict policy against NCNS (no call, no show). The company values positivity and safety, aiming to maintain a constructive work culture. The team consists of various bays, including heavy fabrication, hydraulic, and electrical bays with small dedicated teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
