The Welder is responsible for performing high-precision brazing operations on metal components, ensuring strong, leak-proof joints that meet industry and company standards. This role requires deep knowledge of brazing techniques, metallurgy, and safety protocols. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with torch, furnace, or induction brazing and a strong attention to detail.

  • Brazing Operations:
    • Perform brazing on various metals and alloys using appropriate techniques (torch, furnace, induction).
    • Prepare surfaces and apply fluxes to ensure optimal joint quality.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Inspect brazed joints for strength, integrity, and compliance with specifications.
    • Conduct leak tests and visual inspections using appropriate tools.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Recommend improvements to brazing processes and tooling.
    • Collaborate with engineering to refine brazing procedures and parameters.
    • Provide process improvement relating to safety and assembly.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Maintain brazing equipment and ensure proper calibration and cleanliness.
    • Report and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols related to high-temperature operations and hazardous materials.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or technical certification; associate degree in welding or metallurgy preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in brazing or related metal joining processes.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and heat treatment principles.
  • Experience with HVAC, aerospace, or electronics components is a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Certification in brazing or welding (e.g., AWS B2.2/B2.1).
  • Familiarity with automated brazing systems.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
