We are currently recruiting for a 2nd Shift Ink Technician to join our team! The 2nd Shift Ink Technician is responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of the company’s ink requirements, as well as fulfilling quality control duties as a Pharmaceutical Control Manager (PCM). This position offers onsite training and the opportunity to learn a valuable skilled trade in the printing industry. Employees will have unlimited growth potential and the chance to continuously advance your career. Previous printing and/or ink mixing experience in a manufacturing setting is a huge plus. This position reports to the Pressroom Manager.

Pay Rate: $19.00-$21.00/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differential

Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday, 2:30PM-1:00AM, with occasional overtime

Responsibilities:

  • Possesses knowledge in ink formulation, color theory, and use of measuring equipment
  • Mixes pressroom ink to required specifications
  • Assists Press Operators with on-press color adjustments
  • Uses color measurement devices and associated software when necessary
  • Maintains ongoing inventory of all inks and related supplies.
  • Conducts daily inventory on all inks and related supplies to manage required levels
  • Conducts monthly ink inventory of all inks in production
  • Conducts weekly hazardous waste inspections
  • Provides ink drawdowns as required
  • Sets up and operates equipment in accordance with specifications
  • Acts as a Pharmaceutical Control Manager (PCM) by ensuring the pharmaceutical production flow follows all of the procedures that are set forth in the company’s quality management system, which includes completing sign-offs and additional documentation
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards
  • Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year of experience in the printing industry, preferred
  • Experience with quality control, blending, color matching, and following recipes
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

    • Is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
    • Is frequently exposed to chemicals and inks, some of which could be hazardous
