Location: Various healthcare facilities across New York
Start Date: August 4, 2025
Schedule:
- Full-Time | 40 hours/week | 8-hour shifts
- Shift Options:
- Evenings (Monday–Friday)
- Nights (Monday–Friday)
- Weekends (Evening and Night Shifts Only)
- Psychiatric experience required for all shifts
Job Description:
We are actively hiring Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) for multiple behavioral health and psychiatric care units. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and will bring compassion, professionalism, and reliability to a fast-paced care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care with a focus on personal hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and emotional support
- Accurately take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Assist patients with ambulation and transfers using proper techniques and assistive devices (e.g., Hoyer lifts)
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and monitor for behavioral changes
- Report any clinical concerns or incidents to nursing staff promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by following standard infection control protocols
- Record and document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certificate from an accredited Patient Care Technician (PCT) program with training in EKG and phlebotomy
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric care setting (required)
- Strong communication, observation, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting, transferring, and prolonged standing
Additional Information:
- Positions are on-site only — remote work is not available
- Must be comfortable providing care to psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including those in crisis
- PPE and training provided in accordance with OSHA and healthcare safety standards
