Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join a top-ranked national firm.
Position: Mid-Level Real Estate Finance Associate (3–5 years)
Location: New York
Overview:
A Band 1 real estate practice is seeking a highly skilled associate to join its Real Estate Finance team in New York. This position focuses on representing institutional lenders in complex commercial real estate finance transactions and offers meaningful client-facing responsibility and early integration into deal teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Represent lenders in the origination of mortgage and subordinate debt products, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity investments

Draft and negotiate loan agreements, joint venture agreements, intercreditor and co-lender agreements, and other principal transactional documents

Advise clients on the structuring and execution of construction loans, repurchase facilities, and other credit facilities

Manage multiple components of complex transactions and coordinate across practice groups

Communicate directly with clients, borrowers, and opposing counsel
Qualifications:

J.D. with excellent academic credentials

3–5 years of real estate finance experience at a prominent law firm

Strong drafting and negotiating experience on primary deal documents

Experience with construction lending or repo facilities is a plus

Admission to the New York Bar is required
Compensation:
-
Annual base salary range: $260,000–$365,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Eligibility for market bonus
