Responsibilities include:
- Direct care delivery including but not limited to assessment of physiologic and psychosocial health status
- Deliver modality specific care including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, contingency management, and relapse prevention
- Interview patients, establishing treatment goals and plan
- Maintain understanding of current treatments, knowledge, and practices in addiction care and prioritize the use of best and evidence-based practices
- Maintain documentation, patient files, and statistics as required by departmental policies and funding sources
- Work collaboratively with the medical and nursing teams to develop personalized treatment plans
- Field clinically-related telephone calls and respond as indicated to promote optimal patient care
- Support efforts of the Wellbridge research team to implement program improvement and patient outcomes. Manage and promote relationship with academic and research institutions to promote addiction research and training
- Provide crisis support to other clinicians and patients, as needed and in emergency situations
- Participate in regular clinical team meetings. Work closely with the clinical and advocacy teams to coordinate services to patients
- Serve as a liaison and assist with community outreach/presentations
- Maintain a safe and caring environment, delivering care in a culturally sensitive manner and consistent with Wellbridge mission, vision and values
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years (2) of full-time satisfactory experience in addiction care, BA and one year of experience preferred
- Valid License as counselor or related-fields (CASAC, CASAC-T, MSW and/or MHC) in the State of New York.
- Current BLS certification or must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
- Familiarity with all relevant healthcare standards: OASAS, ASAM, JCAHO, etc.
- Demonstrated communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with data management and electronic records
- Strong problem solving, conceptual, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific experience with stabilization and withdrawal management care and/or rehabilitation settings
- Experience with therapeutic groups (preferably addiction-oriented), therapeutic communities, and inpatient care
- Knowledge of medications assisted treatment (MAT) and how behavioral interventions can support and improve outcomes for MAT
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary and/or research team
