Role Summary
Support and administer enterprise access control and CCTV systems within a single NYC commercial building. This role emphasizes system administration and configuration, while maintaining hands-on responsibility for field hardware as needed. The position works closely with building management, IT, and vendors and requires a professional, organized approach.
Primary Responsibilities
· Administer and monitor access control and video management systems.
· Perform configuration, cardholder administration, device management, and reporting.
· Monitor system health, alarms, logs, and device status.
· Coordinate and support system upgrades and platform migrations.
· Act as technical liaison with IT, security, vendors, and building stakeholders.
· Troubleshoot system-level issues affecting access control or CCTV services.
· Install, maintain, replace, and test access control and CCTV field equipment.
· Track work and changes through a ticketing system with clear documentation.
· Maintain accurate system and configuration documentation.
· Respond to infrequent but mandatory after-hours or weekend emergencies.
· Comply with OSHA and safety requirements.
Technical Expectations
· Enterprise access control and CCTV system architecture.
· System administration and configuration.
· Hardware integration, relay logic, and supervised circuits.
· Power systems: 12VDC, 24VDC, PoE.
· Basic networking: switches, VLANs, PoE.
· Windows-based servers and client applications.
· Strong documentation and change-management discipline.
Preferred Experience
· Administration of enterprise access control or video management platforms.
· Participation in system upgrades or migrations.
· Coordination with IT, vendors, and building operations teams.
· Experience with platforms such as Genetec, Lenel, or similar is required.
Basic Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· U.S. citizenship required
· Industry certifications such as Lenel or Genetec
· Ability to pass background checks and maintain required clearances.
· Reliable attendance and participation in on-call rotation.
· Professional appearance suitable for a corporate environment.
Physical Requirements
· Lift up to 75 lbs.
· Work from ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
· Work at heights up to approximately 60 feet.
