Salary Range: $80,000- $90,000

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Director of Residential Services is responsible for supporting and mentoring Community Supervisors. This is an on-call position responsible for directly supervising the Community Supervisors and ensuring the direct oversight of all direct support staff in multiple homes throughout the county. This includes regular on-site visits and the coordination and scheduling of all program components. Provides oversight of each individual’s programs and ensures there is a valid, current Life Plan, Res. Hab plan and necessary safeguards for each individual within their programs. Serves as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) for the Residential Services Division and/or a QIDP is assigned. Verifies service delivery and ensures accurate daily billing, completed monthly notes and habilitation plans, and ensures that the most appropriate, individualized, and ethical programs are implemented and accurately documented. Responsible for all aspects of staffing, observes and assists supervisors to implement universal procedures and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and agency policies. This position assists with department development and expansion, policy development, hiring and evaluating subordinates and various protocols established to address departmental issues.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: Master’s degree in Human Services or related discipline preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in related Human Services discipline required (or in the process of pursuing).

Minimum Experience:

Five years of management experience in a program serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Strong organizational and analytical skills

• Good interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with co-workers, employees, people we serve, families and outside contacts.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

• Must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality

• Good personal computer skills and knowledge of the appropriate software

• Ability to manage program budgets

• Some experience with electronic health records preferred

• Be willing to work flexible hours

• Travel to various program sites required

• Demonstrate sound judgement and the capacity to respond to unusual situations

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent public speaking skills

• Valid driver’s license and meet agency driving standards

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides ongoing support and direction to Community Supervisors. Mentors direct and indirect reports to enhance performance and service delivery.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities of Community Supervisor during such times that person is unavailable.
  • Develops staff including Community Supervisors and DSPs by ensuring that staff are properly and adequately trained.
  • Supervises team and participates in hiring, evaluating, and disciplining (including terminations) of staff as appropriate.
  • Verifies service delivery and ensures accurate daily billing vis Medisked, completed monthly notes and habilitation plans, and ensures that the most appropriate, individualized, and ethical programs are implemented and accurately documented.
  • Provides oversight to Community Supervision in reviewing and monitoring the Life Plan, ensuring that it is updated when changes to SAP are made.
  • Reviews and approves SAP. Provides oversight for all habilitation planning, progress, and evaluation in accordance with regulatory requirements. Ensures all required documents are aligned with the Life Plan.
  • Responsible for all aspects of staffing, observes and assists Community Supervisors to implement universal procedures and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and Agency policies.
  • Conducts regular on-site visits to each assigned residential home to ensure the quality of the services provided. Responsible for ensuring monthly Physical Plant Walkthrough, OFPC Monthly Checklist, Meal observation(s) and E-Scores are conducted as required.
  • Ensures a safe program environment including performing regular physical plant audits, conducting facility safety checks, completing SysAid as needed and oversight of fire drills for department. Required to follow up on recommendations and deficiencies for all internal or external audits. This includes keeping the Fire Evacuation Plan, Site Plan of Protective Oversight and E-Scores (where required) current and reflective of the needs of the program, as well as meeting all required regulations.
  • Assures maximization of revenue for all programs.
  • Administers budgets for assigned residential services and programs. Monitors performance against budget expectations and undertakes corrective action, as necessary. Provides oversights and reviews financial records for sites assigned.
  • Works with representatives from agency and the OPWDD department of Quality Assurance and/or other regulatory agencies to coordinate all regulatory reviews and to establish procedures to ensure compliance with recommendations and/or deficiencies. Responsible to ensure4 required trainings are completed and identify departmental training needs as they arise.
  • Actively works with the intake department and Managing Director of Residential Services to ensure that vacancies in homes are filled on a timely basis.
  • Oversees the submission of incident reports and is responsible to adhere to all guidelines and regulations relating to 624. Responsible for IRC follow-up, including programmatic recommendations and supporting documentation.
  • Ensures that individuals served become involved in their community utilizing staff and natural supports according to personal choices. Strive to achieve person-centered excellence in order to meet the requirements set forth in the HCBS Waiver regulations.
  • Ensure all individuals served are living according to their rights and responsibilities and are free from abuse and neglect.
  • Responsible and accountable for overseeing individuals’ funds. This includes monitoring all in-house accounts and bank accounts and ensuring they remain within the resource limits. OPWDD Personal Allowance training is required annually.
  • Assists in formulating and recommending policies and procedures for Department, long range plans for services and programs to be offered and implements as authorized.
  • Responsible for the residences on a 24-hour basis.
  • Evaluate staff performance.
