A nursing opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses specializing in Emergency Room care within a 60-mile radius of Lowville, NY. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM and a 36-hour weekly guarantee.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current New York State RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required or must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Proven Meditech electronic health record system experience.
- Travel nursing experience preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience; prior Emergency Department experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles and ability to manage patient care across clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual dimensions.
- Capable of recognizing and responding promptly to life-threatening situations.
- Ability to maintain safety standards, including patient lifting techniques.
- Excellent leadership qualities with prioritization, delegation, and potential charge nurse responsibilities.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Must pass a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and obtain defibrillation certification within six months.
- Certification in IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy required during orientation.
- Critical care and charge nurse experience are advantageous.
Responsibilities include providing high-quality emergency care, assessing patient needs accurately, functioning effectively under pressure, and fulfilling charge nurse duties as assigned.
