Program: Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Services (MHOTRS) Clinic
Location: White Plains, NY
Hours Per Week: 35
FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $55,000 - $77,000 annually
Summary Description: The MHOTRS (Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Services) Licensed Clinician will offer individual, group, and family services for individuals of all ages and for a full range of behavioral health conditions. Our clinic delivers integrated behavioral health services with a robust team of providers. The Licensed Clinician is responsible for the provision of direct clinical services and coordination with other agencies serving the clients. They will demonstrate competence in providing trauma-related care, utilizing evidence-based approaches and must possess the ability to engage and affect change through a person-centered model. The Licensed Clinician will demonstrate initiative, flexibility, creativity and a collaborative spirit. They will support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making and collaboration. The Licensed Clinician will utilize evidence-based practices; embracing trauma-informed and person-centered approaches and will demonstrate co-occurring competence to deliver services that are integrated and holistic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally sensitive direct, clinical services, which may include but are not limited to: assessment and treatment planning, individual, family and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and community consultation and education.
- Document client progress in a timely manner, ensuring records comply with agency policies and regulatory requirements, following established methods and procedures.
- Maintain a full caseload in accordance with agency expectations, with a typical day averaging around 8–9 client sessions, generally 30 minutes each.
- Identify social determinants of health needs such as case management and coordinate with other agencies and community resources.
- Coordinate treatment including treatment transition with other community agencies and services.
- Participate in program development and in training programs.
- Follow the established clinic policies & procedures.
- Maintain appropriate professional standards.
- Other designated or related duties.
Key Competencies:
- Principles, practices, and methods of community mental health treatment, including complexity-capable interviewing, assessment, marriage, family, child, and group counseling and crisis intervention.
- Adult and/or child psychology, including development and psychopathology.
- Applicable city, stat,e and federal guidelines and laws affecting mental health treatment, services and reporting procedures.
- Common challenges associated with mental health conditions.
- Principles of psychological growth and development.
- Community mental health resources and services, and other health, financial, social, recreational, cultural, housing, and legal advocacy services.
- Understanding the impact of culture on mental health practices.
- Familiarity with and ability to effectively use an Electronic Health Record system.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Meet the required productivity targets as set forth by the clinic leadership.
- Keep timely and accurate documentation as required by licensing and the agency.
- Participate in the team’s integrated meetings.
- Collaborate with the team on care coordination.
- Partnership with external referral sources.
- Be part of the open access schedule.
- Work alongside agency systems (compliance, quality, service providers...)
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling with clinical experience in the academic program at an accredited school of social work/counseling.
- Licensed in New York State, be in good standing and remain in continuous good standing with the state’s licensing board: LMSW, LMHC, LMFT or LCSW.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- Basic Computer knowledge and the ability to document in an electronic health record.
- Clearance by NYS Justice Center through fingerprinting for a Criminal History Records search.
- Clearances from NYS Justice Center (SEL), Medicaid Exclusion List, and NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management systems.
- Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking).
- Must maintain clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Special Considerations:
- Hours Per Week, Reporting Structure, and Location are subject to change per program needs
Mandated Reporter:
This is a Mandated Reporter position. The NYS Justice Center legislation defines anyone who has regular and substantial contact with any person with special needs as a “custodian” under the law and, therefore, a mandated reporter. You can be held liable by both the civil and criminal legal systems for intentionally failing to make a report.
