Head of Engineering (Founding Engineer) PropTech AI-First Platform
Location: NYC Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)
Compensation: $150k base + .5% equity plus Performance Bonus
Reports to: CTO
About Our Client
Our client is a seed-stage startup with real revenue and real customers. Their mission: reinvent how owners, operators, and contractors manage buildings. Their building a cutting-edge 3D, AI-driven platform that transforms property operations into something intuitive, visual, and radically more efficient.
We're looking for a Founding Engineer who will grow into the Head of Engineering. For the first 3-6 months, you'll be hands-on, shipping product quickly, then taking full ownership of engineering, process, team, and culture.
What You'll Do
Build

Ship core product features across web (React) and iOS

Own backend services and architecture using Node.js, TypeScript, and Firebase
Lead

Establish engineering best practices and processes

Own delivery timelines, product quality, and outcomes

Recruit and mentor early engineers

Shape engineering culture from day one
Go AI-First

Work with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code)

Contribute to or lead multi-agent orchestration initiatives

Help us build an engineering organization that uses AI as leverage
Who You Are

5-7 years of software engineering experience

2+ years as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager

Advanced in TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React, Firebase

Big plus: experience with Three.js/WebGL and/or iOS/Swift
