LEGAL SECRETARY/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Seeking an experienced Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant to work 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with a one-half hour paid meal period, for a busy, smoke-free police Union located in the Town of Newburgh, NY. Candidate must have strong computer skills and be particularly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Dropbox, and online New York State Court System filings. Candidate should be able to multitask, be very organized, work independently, and be able to assist assigned attorneys in their case management. Job responsibilities include: working with the Union President and assigned attorneys, answering telephone lines, strong typing skills, photocopying, opening and closing of files, filing of correspondence, scanning of documents, redlining of contract documents, compiling exhibit books, developing charts and graphs, maintaining Outlook calendar and processing mail. Notary Public a plus. If not a Notary, must become one within three months of employment. Position includes a non-contributory Simplified Employee Pension (SEP), earned paid time off, vacation, single non-contributory health insurance plan, or a specified annual buy out amount, and a salary based on experience (negotiable) with an annual review for salary increases.
