<h3>Job Description</h3>
A leading New York real estate firm is seeking a litigation associate or counsel with 5–7 years of experience in complex construction litigation. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in:
 
<ul>
<li>Advising on contract interpretation and scope of responsibilities</li>
<li>NY mechanics lien and trust fund statutes, including lien filing and discharge</li>
<li>Representing clients in New York state and federal courts, AAA arbitration, and mediations</li>
</ul>
 
Litigation experience should include:
<ul>
<li>Trial/arbitration preparation and participation</li>
<li>Drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and memoranda</li>
<li>Managing discovery, including e-discovery platforms</li>
<li>Taking and defending depositions</li>
<li>Preparing witnesses, exhibit lists, and issue books</li>
<li>Attending court conferences and hearings</li>
<li>Negotiating settlements</li>
</ul>
 
Experience drafting and negotiating construction-related agreements is also required, including:
<ul>
<li>General and construction management contracts</li>
<li>Subcontractor, professional services, and consulting agreements</li>
<li>Familiarity with AIA and DBIA contract forms</li>
</ul>
 
Salary Range: $250,000–$280,000 commensurate with experience.
