Job Description

A nonprofit services organization in New York City is looking to add a new Vocational Specialist will to join their team. As a member of a mobile multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Vocational Specialist will be responsible for providing rehabilitative services and consultation.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
  • Caseload: Approximately 70-80+ shared among Clinicians

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the ACT Team members
  • Assist through all phases of the vocational service provision
  • Perform routine clinical services as a member of the ACT Team
  • Oversee the recipients and for charting services
  • Ensure revisions to the plan as the participant's needs change
  • Advocate for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working with persons who deal with Mental Illnesses
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, and/or related field
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Basic knowledge of Human Services
