The Rockland Housing Action Coalition is seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of two affordable housing rental properties totaling 108 units, located in Spring Valley, NY. This role is essential to ensuring the properties are well-maintained, financially sound, and fully compliant with all affordable housing regulations.
This position's responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervise maintenance staff across multiple buildings.
- Collect rent payments and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Issue and post notices related to lease violations and compliance matters.
- Maintain tenant files and documentation to support ongoing eligibility.
- Follow-up on delinquent accounts and pursue collections per established procedures.
- Respond to resident inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare and submit required operating reports accurately and on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal housing regulations, including Section 8 and/or LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) guidelines.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following:
- Residential Property Management experience is required.
- Prior experience with Section 8, LIHTC, or other affordable housing programs is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering excellent tenant services.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to address property and resident issues efficiently.
