Job Title: Patient Care Technician
Location-Brooklyn-11213
Shift: Morning/ Evening shift/ Night shift
Pay: $20 to $25/hr
Contract: 3-month assignment with possible extension
Education:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or equivalent certification required
• Able to read and perform intermediate math and reading computations
• High School Graduate or GED required
- PCT Certification required
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provides direct patient care and related support with caring and compassion. Performs other related duties
• Provides Routine Personal Care To Patients In A Timely, Safe And Effective Manner. Care May Include Bathing, Brushing Teeth, Dressing Patients And Attending To All Of Their Personal Care Needs
• Prepares Patients For Meals, Feeds And/Or Assists With Feeding As Necessary
• Empties Bedpans And Collects Urine And Other Specimens
• Transfers Patients To And From Bed And/Or Chair Via One-Person Transfer, Two-Person Transfer, And Use Of A Hoyer Lift
• Takes Accurate Vital Signs Temperatures, Blood Pressures, Pulse, And Respiration
• Records All Necessary Information According To Policy And Procedure
• Assists Patients In Walking And In Transporting Patients By Means Of Wheel Chair Or Stretcher
• Performs ROM Using Proper Technique
• For point of care testing, checks the manufacturer's expiration dates of reagent strips prior to performing quality assurance testing of glucometers.
