We are seeking a highly experienced attorney with extensive expertise in sophisticated estate planning and estate administration for high net-worth individuals.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Advise clients with respect to estate planning, trust administration, estate administration, and tax audits.
- Draft wills, trusts, business succession planning documents, and charitable giving instruments.
- Assist executors and trustees in administering estates and trusts, including the preparation of inventories, asset valuations, and accountings. In accordance with the governing documents, oversee the distribution of trust assets and estate assets.
- Assist with estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters.
- Maintain relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and updates throughout the planning and administration process.
- Review work of other attorneys and paralegals.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.

- Ability to manage multiple matters, multiple clients and multiple cases, with pragmatism, patience, excellent judgment, and delivering stellar work product
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
- Ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Aderant Expert Time (or a similar timekeeping program).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) and must be a member of the New York Bar.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in T&E group at a law firm is required.
- Experience with IRS and NYS estate tax return preparation and audits.
