Shift differential: 2nd shift + $1/hr, 3rd shift + $3/hr

Position Summary

Reporting to Machine Shop Manager, the Machinist-II is responsible for the operation of computer numerically controlled machine to support the production of Praxis products. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have a willingness to learn, is able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to develop & maintain relationships.

How Youll Make an Impact

Learn mechanical principles of Praxis products and manufacturing to become technical expert/resource on Praxis parts and products fabricated in house

Programming of machines including set up and fixturing

Operate lathes and surface grinders

Responsible for the operation of inspection equipment

Read and interrupt engineer drawings to assist with machinery set up

Understand the impact of tolerances for error-free production

Perform production operations in support of Praxis Technology processes to meet scheduled and quality client commitments

Maintain compliance with Praxis Quality Management System

Accurately complete all required record sheets

Regularly maintain production and escalate any issues for resolution

Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines and applying best practices for on-the-job safety in a production environment

Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes while maintaining an orderly production facility

What You Must Bring to This Role

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Machine trade or technical school certification - desired

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents including: maintenance instructions, procedure and manuals required

Demonstrated experience working CAM systems - required

Demonstrated success working with technical/mechanical devices - required

Proven ability to operate with computers, microscopes and other tools - required

Experience in production operations, safety and security protocols - required

A history of excellence in communication and active listening - required

Proven success working independently and in a team environment - required

Demonstrated comfort with basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and rounding - required

Demonstrated comfort with both verbal and written communication - required

Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build personal and team-based relationships with all levels of associates - required

Comfort with basic computer applications and data entry - required

Proven ability to calmly transition between multiple and changing priorities - required

Ability to work production shift schedule - required

Demonstrated success working in a manufacturing environment - desired

Ability to use forklift with proper safety protocol - desired

Working Conditions & Physical Efforts

Work is performed in a Production environment

May be required to lift up to 70 lbs.

Ability to stand or sit for a prolonged period of time

Visual functions being those of near vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with leadership & clients

Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operate equipment

Low exposure to physical risk
