Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team! This position is in-person, working in the Village of Port Chester, NY on a sanitary sewer upgrade project. Nighttime work is likely.
Project Summary
The Village of Port Chester is responsible for repairing and maintaining its sanitary sewer system that includes more than 274,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer main and over 1,400 manholes. The average age of the village’s sanitary sewer pipes is approximately 85 years old. The Sanitary Sewer Upgrade Project generally includes installing 48-inch and 36-inch sanitary sewers to increase the capacity of the Village’s sewer system to eliminate sanitary sewer overflows and allow to provide additional capacity for the various development projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Baccalaureate Degree in engineering/architecture and/or construction related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in construction/design-related field.
- Experience with DOT right-of-way and Experience with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is a plus.
- OSHA 30 certification is required
- A driver's license valid in New York State.
- Demonstrated proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to MS Windows; MS Office (including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations

We have been in business for over 30 years and have completed well over 400 projects. We currently have somewhere between 40-50 employees.
Because we are a woman-owned firm we are on contracts with larger Construction Management firms such as LiRo, Hill International, Jacobs, Tectonic, Gilbane, etc. and we help them to meet their WBE goals. We provide Project Managers, Inspectors, Estimators, Office Engineers and so on. Currently we are on about 10-15 different contracts.
