Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade in a Brooklyn, NY school setting. This contract position begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year. The role involves working with a diverse student population across self-contained classrooms, resource rooms, and special day classrooms, providing targeted support tailored to individual educational needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individualized instruction to students with special education needs in Grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
  • Developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Managing classroom behavior and fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Communicating regularly with parents, school staff, and related service providers.

Qualifications and experience sought:

  • Active State License in Special Education.
  • Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings, particularly in self-contained and resource classrooms.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners.
  • Ability to maintain detailed records and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work schedule and compensation:

  • 30 to 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Pay rate ranges from $37 to $41+ per hour, commensurate with experience.
