A registered nurse with medical-surgical expertise is sought for a rewarding contract position in New Hartford, NY. This role involves providing compassionate care to adult patients recovering from surgeries and managing various complex conditions typical in a medical-surgical unit. The ideal candidate will bring solid clinical skills along with proven experience in nursing leadership and travel assignments.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current, active Registered Nurse license in NY with all required RN licenses verified
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical (MS) nursing role
- Travel nursing experience is mandatory, supported by at least two recent RN references from MS charge or management roles
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficient in using EPIC electronic medical records (EMR)
- Valid drivers license with address matching demographic requirements
- Submission must include up-to-date resume, NURSYS report, and readiness to operate (RTO) documentation
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality post-surgical care for patients with diagnoses such as abdominal pain, osteoarthritis, fractures, and bariatric surgery recovery
- Handle specialty equipment including IV pumps, nasogastric and feeding tubes
- Work evening shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. with flexibility for floating among units
- Collaborate efficiently with multidisciplinary teams to promote patient recovery and safety
