Role Overview
We are seeking a business-minded Legal Counsel to join Botify’s North America team. We are looking for an early-career lawyer excited to work in-house with an international technology scale up. You want to grow your existing commercial legal skills, expand your knowledge of data protection, privacy, and AI regulations. Bring your excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and comfort seeking guidance from more senior teammates when needed. As part of the Botify Legal team, you will be working with the North American revenue teams, as well as several other departments. You will report to our Senior Legal Counsel, North America and APAC.
Your responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract changes requested by internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure compliance with Botify standards or approved exceptions.
- Assist the Security team with the completion of customer security and data protection questionnaires.
- Enter, update, and report on data in our contract management tools, assisting with innovations and roll out of new tools.
- Assist with drafting and maintaining contracting templates.
- Assist with or lead training to other departments on legal processes, tools, and compliance obligations.
- Function as a trusted legal advisor to the revenue teams, balancing risks and providing sound advice.
- Support outside counsel and internal clients with immigration and litigation matters.
- Assist with various legal projects in areas of global compliance, employment matters, vendor review, due diligence for audits and funding actions, and corporate reporting obligations as assigned.
Your qualification:
- A Juris Doctorate degree and 2-4 years’ experience negotiating complex contracts.
- Strong understanding of standard SaaS and Consulting Services contract terms and experience negotiating the same.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate creativity, critical thinking, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams and deliverables and meet deadlines.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving and fast-changing environment with grace and humor under pressure.
- Comfort collaborating with peers across departments and geographies, as well as supporting the highest levels of management.
Nice to have:
- Experience contracting AI solutions.
- Advanced experience with Ironclad CLM
- Language skills – French, Spanish, German
Salary:
$90,000 - $125,000
