JOB DESCRIPTION:

This Research Scientist position relates to analyses of brain signals collected from mouse model systems simulating Alzheimer's disease using electroencephalography. The position involves data acquisition using high density electrode arrays and preprocessing of such recordings. Additionally, advanced neurofeedback protocols will be implemented along with behavioral assays to test candidate therapeutic interventions.

JOB DUTIES:

-Data collection and analyses of electrophysiology signals, particularly, high frequency oscillations
-Development and implementation of advanced signal processing tools
-Presentation of data in conferences
-Manuscript preparation and submission to scientific journals

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

-MD background and experience with brain oscillations
-PhD related to Neuroscience with strong clinical applications

Preferred Qualifications:

-Publications exemplifying expertise in brain disease, the use of EEG and oscillations
-Experience with coding and advanced signal analyses

Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:

Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
