A nursing opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in step-down care. This contract position is based in West Chazy, NY, specializing in progressive care unit (PCU) settings. The role focuses on adult patients requiring acute inpatient telemetry and close monitoring for complex cardiac and medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with cardiac diagnoses including acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, and post-procedure care such as PCI with stents.
• Administer and monitor advanced cardiac drips including inotropes, vasodilators, and antiarrhythmics.
• Manage insulin drip therapy, frequent assessments, and sedation in patients with complex needs such as alcohol withdrawal or hemodynamic instability.
• Collaborate with respiratory and anesthesia teams available 24/7 to support patient care.
• Utilize EPIC for documentation and MAK for medication administration.
• Function as part of a resource float team, rotating as needed to appropriate units within the facility.
• Adhere to unit-specific protocols including telemetry, starting IVs, performing EKGs, and post-cardiac catheterization care.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Registered Nurse license with at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience, including 1 year in progressive care or similar specialty.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Preferred experience in a teaching hospital or trauma level 2 facility.
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and advanced cardiac life support.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, typically on a 7a to 7p schedule with weekend rotation approximately every other weekend.
• Professional appearance following unit dress code; navy blue or white scrubs and closed-toe nonskid shoes required.
