Senior Litigation Associate - Insurance Defense
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Litigation Associate with a strong background in insurance defense to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex litigation cases, particularly in personal injury claims, and will play a crucial role in representing our clients' interests effectively in court.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters
- Develop and implement effective litigation strategies
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Collaborate with clients, experts, and other attorneys to build strong defense cases
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates and support staff
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting insurance defense
- Participate in settlement negotiations and formulate settlement proposals
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Must be licensed to practice law in NY, NJ is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, specifically in insurance defense
- Strong knowledge of personal injury laws and defense strategies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
