Our client, a leading Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a highly qualified associate with 4 to 7 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring to join its Bankruptcy Business Reorganization Practice Group. This position is available in either its Boston or New York office.
Key Experience Qualifications
- 4 to 7 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring, ideally at an Am Law 100/200 firm.
- Strong skills in legal writing, research, oral advocacy, and litigation.
- Prior clerkship with a U.S. Bankruptcy Court or federal court is advantageous but not necessary.
- Experience representing various stakeholders, including debtors, creditors, trustees, committees, noteholders, bidders, and acquirers in Chapter 11 and other insolvency matters.
- Proficiency in inter-creditor issues, corporate trust, and distressed transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting motions, pleadings, forbearance agreements, complaints, settlement agreements, bidding procedures, asset purchase agreements, and plans of reorganization.
- Arguing motions in bankruptcy court and participating in hearings or other insolvency proceedings, such as receiverships.
- Collaborating with a nationally recognized 50+ member bankruptcy and restructuring team.
Preferred Background
- Experience within distressed sectors such as healthcare, senior living, education, or manufacturing.
- Exposure to working with indenture trustees, bondholders, collateral agents, or tax-advantaged investors.

Candidates should possess strong academic qualifications and big law experience. We prefer candidates without frequent job changes or contract/temp history. Membership to the Bar in either MA or NY (or eligibility to waive in) is required. We seek candidates with 4 to 7 years of experience post law school graduation.
