The RED (Raiders’ Extended Day) Enrichment Supervisor will lead site-specific coordination of ICAN’s support of UCSD’s RED programming within an assigned elementary school. This position manages daily program operations, plans and implements engaging student activities, ensures proper staffing ratios, and collaborates with fellow Coordinators to maintain consistency across the district. The Coordinator also supports enrollment, communication with school stakeholders, and minor budget oversight for their program site.
This position is Full-Time and follows a 10-month school year calendar. Hours are aligned with the afterschool program schedule (typically 3 hours per day on school days).
Duties & Responsibilities:Site-Based Program Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and lead daily activities for students enrolled in the RED Program.
- Coordinate program calendar in alignment with school events and district expectations.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the site, including staff scheduling and program transitions.
- Ensure adherence to safety, supervision, and student engagement standards.
Staffing & Supervision
- Coordinate with site staff to maintain appropriate student-to-staff ratios.
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to site team members.
- Support onboarding and ongoing training for new staff as needed.
Enrollment & Communication
- Support student enrollment, attendance tracking, and family communication.
- Act as a point of contact for families, school administration, and ICAN leadership.
- Collaborate with fellow RED Enrichment Coordinators to share resources and ideas.
Budget & Supplies
- Manage a small program budget and ensure appropriate use of materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of expenses and inventory.
Education / Experience:Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience running high-quality youth programming.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a team.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, Human Services, or related field.
- Experience working in a school-based or afterschool setting.
Certifications & Requirements
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
- Ability to obtain background clearance and any required youth safety training.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be adept at using computer systems for internet, word processing, and email correspondence. Experience using electronic filing program(s) as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite is preferred.
