Job Title: Dental Assistant – Adult Dental / Oral Surgery
Location: New York, NY 10065
Assignment Type: Contract
Duration: 9 Weeks
Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (60-minute break)

  • Alternate PRN Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Pay Rate: $23/hour

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support adult dental and oral surgery procedures in a fast-paced clinical setting. This role is essential in ensuring smooth patient flow, maintaining clinical efficiency, and delivering safe, high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have hands-on chairside experience and be comfortable working in a surgical dental environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support

  • Provide chairside assistance during oral surgery and general dental procedures.

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials prior to procedures.

  • Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control standards.

  • Anticipate provider needs to ensure efficient workflow.

  • Deliver post-procedure care instructions to patients.

Patient Care

  • Escort and prepare patients for examination and treatment.

  • Obtain and document medical history and vital signs as required.

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.

  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality throughout the visit.

Documentation & Administrative Duties

  • Document patient information accurately using EPIC EMR.

  • Maintain complete and compliant patient records and procedure notes.

  • Support scheduling and patient flow coordination within the clinic.

Equipment & Sterilization

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments in accordance with protocols.

  • Maintain operatories and ensure equipment is functioning properly.

  • Monitor inventory levels and restock clinical supplies as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 1 year of chairside Dental Assistant experience.

  • Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred:

  • Completion of a Certified Dental Assisting Program.
