Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and performing oral examinations.
• Provide preventive dental care such as teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing.
• Apply fluoride treatments and sealants as needed to protect teeth from decay.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Assist in the management of patient records and documentation, including medical coding when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with dentists in developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Work effectively with pediatric patients, ensuring a comfortable experience for children during their visits.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and general dentistry practices.
• Experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient in patient assessment techniques to identify oral health issues effectively.
• Familiarity with aseptic technique to ensure safe practices within the dental office.
• Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles for working with younger patients.
• Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and effective communication.
• Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 13 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

License/Certification:

• X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
