Job DescriptionCareer Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Founding Engineer - Blockchain - this is a fully-remote role for US-based candidates.
Blockchains are finally ready to deliver on their promise of upgrading the financial system to be more open, fair, transparent, fast, reliable, and efficient. We are making this vision a reality by bringing together the brightest minds from Ethereum and Wall Street to build institutional-grade products that move global finance on-chain.
What Will You Do?
You will be the first non-founder engineer on the team. As you can imagine, this means you will wear many hats, including:

Work across the product suite to build production-grade web2 systems. Work alongside product teams to turn prototypes into full-featured, hardened off-chain systems, all of which will interact with the on-chain components of our protocols.

Develop engineering team best practices. As the first engineering hire, you will shape many of the norms and practices that future engineers will follow.

Explore new products. Deep-dive into various areas of the financial system alongside experts, rapidly explore ideas, prototype with potential clients, and help shape future products.

Pioneer AI-first development. Being an engineer in 2025 is weird. Everyone is working to make sense of this new paradigm. To do this job well means stepping outside your day-to-day role and asking how we can all be more creative and effective using these new tools.
Who Are You?
If you’re the right fit for this role, you’ve probably worked as an early engineer or technical founder before. More concretely:

You ship, not just code. You've been directly responsible for taking major features or entire products from idea to production. You’ve owned the full lifecycle of significant technical projects, not just contributed to them.

Full-stack typescript. You’re experienced with TypeScript, both frontend and backend (blockchain development is not necessary, but comfort using ethers.js to interact with the blockchain is a plus).

Startup mindset. You’re adaptable, selfdirected, and at ease with ambiguity. You’ve probably worked at (and enjoyed) an early-stage startup before.

AI native. You are enthusiastic about staying at the bleeding-edge as AI plays an increasingly important role in the development process.

Employment Details

Location: US Remote

Compensation: $225,000 - $250,000 base salary + equity.

Candidate’s final comp package highly variable based on prior experience, qualifications, job-related skills, and interview performance.
