Job Title: Senior Transmission Planning & Studies Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transmission Planning & Studies Engineer to support critical utility and industrial electrical system studies across North America. This position is ideal for engineers looking to make a strategic impact while enjoying the flexibility of a remote-first work environment. You will collaborate with top-tier engineering professionals on complex modeling and planning projects that influence long-term infrastructure development and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced power system studies including power flow, short-circuit, and dynamic stability analyses
- Support feasibility studies and interconnection evaluations for utilities and independent power producers (IPPs)
- Analyze relay coordination, protection schemes, and system reliability impacts
- Develop and maintain system models using PSSE, PSLF, or similar software
- Prepare clear technical documentation and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders
- Participate in business development efforts and mentor junior team members
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in transmission planning and power system studies
- Proficient in power systems software such as PSSE or PSLF
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- Strong technical writing, reporting, and verbal communication skills
- Capable of managing projects independently and providing expert-level analysis
- Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 10%)
