Job Description: This role offers a great opportunity for growth and for developing a specialized skillset in precision finishing. The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle delicate materials, work in a controlled environment, and comply with strict quality and aerospace standards. Responsibilities include the preparation, sealing, sanding, and reaming of small electronics assemblies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the final appearance, surface quality, and durability of our components before shipping or assembly.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform manual and mechanical sanding on small, machined aluminum, metal, or composite parts to specified tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Operate tools and equipment such as orbital sanders, Dremels, brushes, drill press and sealing applicators with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Apply epoxy sealant according to process specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Apply accurate and consistent marking per specification requirements.
  • Prepare components for final finishing and/or assembly by deburring, cleaning, reaming, and masking as required.
  • Inspect surfaces for defects, contamination, or nonconformance
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and customer-specific quality standards.
  • Complete all required documentation (e.g., travelers, routers, inspection sheets) accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with EH&S policies.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior experience; technical/vocational training is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under a microscope or magnification tools.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals, solvents, and in a controlled environment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power sanders, pneumatic dispensers, and other finishing equipment.
  • Good manual dexterity, patience, and the ability to handle delicate parts.
  • Regular standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs., and fine hand movements.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
  • Ability to retrieve and interpret electronically stored data
