Since 1997, Custom Sewn Products has offered efficient, high-quality sewn and sealed goods. Presently, Custom Sewn Products is seeking an Industrial Production Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing production schedules, ensuring product quality, and driving efficiency across the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a background in production management, and the ability to implement process improvements in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee all matters pertaining to production, assuring efficient production of quality goods to meet customer demand.
  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required.
  • Set up jobs on equipment per production schedule and / or train operators to perform
  • setup functions when advisable.
  • Directly supervise all sealing operations, train machine operators, and support operators.
  • Develop process and quality procedures for all sealing jobs.
  • Work with operations to develop a well coordinated, and efficient schedule
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the repair and maintenance of facilities and grounds including trash removal, lawn, snow removal, cleaning, HVAC, compressors, etc. See that facilities are kept in a safe and healthy condition. Coordinate outside service providers as needed.
  • Equipment management: See that all manufacturing equipment is maintained to its respective PM schedules, supervise or perform repairs of equipment as required. Coordinate with equipment service departments or outside technicians. Maintain appropriate spare parts inventory for all production equipment.
  • Evaluate facility layout as it pertains to effective work flow through the plant that tools and materials are stored safely and are readily accessible. Recommend, plan, and effect approved changes to the plant.
  • Coordinate with vendors on issues related to equipment.
  • Meet with customers or vendors as required.
  • Review RF tooling design for new projects, coordinate with tool maker to solicit quotes for new tools, order tools, and inspect new tools to assure they meet spec when received. Periodically inspect current tooling inventory effect repairs as needed or recommend tools for rework or replacement.
  • Be available to travel for educational opportunities, trade shows, or to meet with equipment vendors for the purpose of specifying or approving new equipment, or other functions away from the plant.
  • Keep abreast of developments in our industry that may provide new opportunities for growth.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years leadership experience.
  • Must have had experience working with a variety of machines to ensure the manufacture of quality parts, including their machining and assembly.
  • Experience with computer guided cutting machines, commercial sewing machines, RF and hot air fabric welders, and other devices common to the needles trades
  • Must be able to perform set up functions for entire operating cell.
  • Possess and demonstrate positive mentoring and leadership qualities.
  • Possess and practice good oral and written communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual skills in Spanish highly desired.
  • Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
  • Possess and utilize basic math skills and exercise superior organizational skills
  • Maintain and exhibit a positive attitude toward our work and our work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with hand and power tools, banders, and other production equipment, as well as an overall mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in needles/ceilings is a huge plus. Experience implementing and utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools strongly desired
