Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Med Surg Job
Job Description
Job DescriptionSet your compass toward meaningful, hands‑on patient care as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Med Surg in Rochester, New York. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to deepen your clinical skills, build lasting patient relationships, and contribute to a community that values compassionate, high‑quality care. In the Med‑Surg setting, every shift offers opportunities to assess, stabilize, and support patients across a wide range of conditions. You’ll develop confidence in medication administration, wound care, and rapid problem solving while guiding families through transitions. Separately, you can explore New York’s beauty: stroll along the Genesee River, enjoy the Erie Canal corridor, and plan weekend getaways to the Finger Lakes or the lakefront.
Rochester combines established medical centers with a lively cultural scene and practical, affordable living. The location supports focused clinical practice and ongoing learning, while offering the possibility to rotate to other facilities across the United States. You’ll encounter diverse patient populations, varied unit workflows, and evolving care protocols—experiences that sharpen assessment, documentation, and collaborative skills and expand your professional network.
Key responsibilities include monitoring patient status, implementing physician orders, administering medications and IV therapies, performing wound care, assisting with procedures, providing patient and family education, and coordinating safe discharge planning with an interdisciplinary team. You’ll work closely with RNs, physicians, pharmacists, and case managers to ensure evidence‑based, patient‑centered care. The role is designed for growth: opportunities for specialty certification, expanded responsibilities, and leadership experience as you demonstrate readiness. We offer competitive weekly pay in the range of $1,356 to $1,391, plus a sign‑on bonus and housing assistance to ease transitions. Additional extension opportunities and unit‑level flexibility allow you to tailor assignments to your career goals. Our program delivers comprehensive support, including 24/7 assistance from a dedicated travel team, on‑site onboarding, clinical mentorship, and a nurse liaison who understands the rhythms and challenges of travel nursing.
Company values center on empowering our staff to advance their careers while maintaining a supportive, inclusive work environment. You’ll find mentorship, continual education opportunities, safety‑focused practices, and a culture that recognizes your contributions. We believe that when nurses are supported, patient care thrives, teams collaborate more effectively, and communities benefit.
Ready to apply? This is your invitation to join a company that prizes your expertise and your growth. Start date: March 2, 2026. Engagements span multiple weeks, with scheduling designed to maximize hands‑on Med Surg experience. Note that hours are not guaranteed; the listed weekly pay is an estimate and may vary. The final compensation package, including any bonuses, housing support, and extension opportunities, will be confirmed during the hiring process.
