We are seeking a compassionate, capable, and experienced Home Health Aide to provide exceptional care and companionship for a 74-year-old woman in a private Queens residence. This unique role blends traditional caregiving with household management and offers the opportunity for a long-term, stable position with flexibility. The ideal candidate has a background in nursing or caregiving, a commitment to excellence, and is open to potentially transitioning into a live-in role with a private apartment included as part of compensation (pending a successful trial period and mutual agreement).
Key Responsibilities - Health & Wellness Support
- Monitor and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure)
- Assist with the administering of prescribed medications
- Support holistic health routines (juicing, supplements, etc.)
- Facilitate memory and cognitive exercises (puzzles, reading, music)
- Accompany client to doctor appointments and wellness visits
- Assist with mobility and accompany on walks
Key Responsibilities - Lifestyle & Domestic Support
- Prepare healthy, home-cooked meals and snacks (American cuisine preferred)
- Perform light housekeeping: laundry, cleaning, organizing
- Manage groceries and household supplies inventory
- Run local errands and accompany client to outings (beauty appointments, church events, etc.)
- Supervise and communicate with household service professionals
Key Responsibilities - Administrative & Tech Skills
- Use smartphone apps proficiently
- Maintain schedules via Google Calendar
- Document and track information using email and spreadsheets
Qualifications
- Home Health Aide Certification
-Former nurse or extensive caregiving experience highly preferred
-Administrative experience (required)
- Familiarity with all or any of the following: Dementia, learning disabilities, osteoarthritis, and hypertension is highly preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (required)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Lives in or near Queens (required)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Tech-savvy, organized, and punctual
- Naturally nurturing with integrity and a heart for caregiving
Compensation & Living Opportunity
Hours: 25-35 hours per week, generally between 10 AM to 3 PM (flexible)
Pay: $23/hour, with potential to increase to $30/hour after 3 months
Benefits: Health insurance, paid sick days, and a flex card for vision and dental
Live-In Option: In the far future, it would include a private apartment, offered after a successful trial
