Litigation Associate Attorney
Position Overview
Our firm is seeking a motivated General Litigation Associate Attorney to join our us in our Syracuse, NY office. You will play an important part in assisting in a wide range of civil litigation cases, including commercial, business, real estate, and construction law. You will also be dealing with labor and employment disputes including discrimination, retaliation claims, and wage and hour issues. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse legal matters, collaborate with experienced attorneys, and develop expertise in various areas of law. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and management of litigation cases from inception to resolution
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
- Participate in depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide creative legal advice
- Stay updated on legal developments and changes in relevant laws
- Support senior attorneys in trial preparation and strategy formulation
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Admitted to practice law in the the state of New York(ability to waive in)
- 3+ years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in labor & employment, business, commercial, real estate, or construction law
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior law firm experience or clerkship in federal or New York State is a major plus!
