We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medicare Biller to join our hospital billing team. The Medicare Biller will be responsible for accurately processing and submitting claims to Medicare, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines, and resolving any billing issues that may arise. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely reimbursement for Medicare services and maintaining positive relationships with payers.
- Prepare and submit accurate Medicare claims for all services rendered in compliance with the Medicare guidelines.
- Follow up on outstanding Medicare claims to ensure timely resolution and payment.
- Monitor claim statuses and identify any claim denials or underpayments, taking appropriate action to resolve them.
- Review patient records and insurance information for accuracy and completeness to ensure proper coding and billing.
- Verify patient eligibility for Medicare benefits and ensure the correct coding for services.
- Stay updated on Medicare regulations, policies, and billing procedures to ensure compliance with all federal and state requirements.
- Ensure that billing practices are in line with hospital policies and Medicare regulations.
- Communicate with Medicare representatives, insurance companies, and internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and claims issues.
- Investigate and resolve patient billing inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in generating monthly billing reports, including accounts receivable and claims aging reports.
- Assist in identifying trends in denied claims and work with management to improve billing processes.
Must Have Skills/Qualifications:
- Medicare billing experience
Hours/Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
