Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dependable individual to join their team as a Patient Accounts Associate.

This is a full-time, hybrid, non-exempt position, based in their midtown New York City office, requiring 4 days per week in the office.

As the Patient Accounts Associate, you will process invoices in a timely manner, manage patient billing and accounts receivable, and ensure collection of outstanding payments. Furthermore, you will work closely with our clinicians, patients and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies, track payments, and maintain accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Process all payments in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Manage billing related documentation including invoices, credit card authorizations, and consents
  • Facilitate open balances, payment plans, follow-up and escalation to ensure accounts are consistently up to date
  • Provide high quality customer service in daily interaction with patients and families
  • Understand mental health billing codes, rules, and regulations, and clearly communicate with patients and clinicians
  • Review daily transactions and process corrections
  • Liaise with insurance companies on patients' behalf when necessary
  • Resolve urgent, sensitive, and confidential issues with discretion and integrity, and strictly protect personal health information
  • Perform additional job-related duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and 1+ year experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Considerations:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,000 - $54,000 USD annually.

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
