Position Summary: Parent Aides will work alongside families to make progress in the areas of parenting skills, nurturing behaviors, healthy physical and emotional development, and appropriate roles and/or developmental expectations. Parent Aides gain empathy and understanding for caregivers, while assessing the health and stability of their clients. When responding to families in need, our team always respects a family’s knowledge, culture, self-determination, and choices, in order to form a true partnership.
Responsibilities:
- Create new Client information charts.
- Develop relationships with families using Motivational Interviewing techniques and the basic principles of CARE.
- Support families in implementing plans, including meeting and communicating with families according to established guidelines, assessing risk factors and developing strategies to manage those factors, and scheduling new appointments for follow-up visits.
- Communicating case contacts with county workers, CHWC supervisors, and case collaterals.
- Record and document all case interactions and activities.
RequirementsEducation:
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience working with at-risk youth and families required
- Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required.
