Security Officers: Part-time
Qualifications:
- New York State security license.
- Must have a home/cell phone.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, swing shifts, special events and mandatory overtime.
Responsibilities:
- To interact with residents, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- To be able to identify staff and their office location.
- Overall protection of the Cathedral campus and all persons and things therein.
- Supervise contracted security officers when there are no Cathedral security supervisors on duty, post extra guards and give them instructions on their duties.
- Give at least six hours advance notice of absence, unless it is an emergency.
- To contact the on-call supervisor informing him/her of all incidents or emergencies.
- To obtain authorization from a supervisor on issues beyond the guard’s authority.
Duties include, but are not exclusive to the following:
- Open and close the Cathedral at the designated times.
- Secure buildings after business hours, weekends and on holidays.
- Open and close the grounds at designated times.
- Report burnt out lights, broken windows, doors or any other damage to the facilities.
- Arming, disarming and monitoring alarm systems.
- Patrol the Cathedral, buildings and grounds.
- Admitting staff, groups and visitors to buildings and grounds when authorized.
- Ensuring emergency exits are accessible.
Job Type: Part-time positions available (a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work at one of the world's great places of worship).
Pay: $17.00 per hour and up, based on experience
