Metal Powder Production Technician – Night Shift
About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented candidate to join our night shift team. In this role, you’ll help set up and operate
a vacuum atomization furnace, maintain equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout the process.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with furnace setup and operation during the atomization process.
- Perform cleaning, quality checks, and monitoring tasks before, during, and after production runs.
- Prepare raw material charges and operate the furnace control board.
- Make minor repairs to the furnace, atomization chamber, and related equipment.
- Clean the atomization chamber and maintain a safe, organized work area.
- Remove and replace furnace lids and coils using an electric hoist.
- Clean and repair crucibles for the next production cycle.
- Attach/detach gas, electric, and water lines as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing PPE such as respirators and masks.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support department goals.
- Work overtime when required.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience in a production environment as a machine operator or general laborer.
- Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet.
- Able to bend, squat, twist, climb stairs, and stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
- Skills:
- Machine operation and basic repair skills.
- Quality control knowledge.
- Other Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. Person or eligible for export authorizations.
- Reliable transportation (location is not near public transit).
- Ability to wear a respirator.

Work Environment
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic production setting. You’ll be required to wear PPE and follow strict safety protocols. Expect physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clayville, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
