Medical Oncology RN Facility: Bassett Medical Center Department: Outpatient Ambulatory Clinic – Infusion Room Environment:  Outpatient Ambulatory Clinic in an infusion room setting. Typical Patient Population:  Adult, middle-aged, and elderly patients.  Diagnoses include hematology conditions and various cancer diagnoses. Required Skills & Experience:  RN licensure and current BLS certification.  Experience with infusions and transfusions.  Competency in IV insertion, central line access and deaccession.  Completion of HealthStreams course bundle for infusion nursing prior to starting in the infusion room (facility-specific). Certifications:  ONC certification is not required but preferred.  ONS is not required; the facility provides an internal course bundle covering similar competencies. Patient Ratios:  Varies based on the infusion schedule and patient needs; typically manageable given the outpatient setting. Unit Support & Resources:  RN team members in the infusion room.  RN Team Leader for each infusion room.  Nurse Navigators, Social Workers, Financial Counselors.  Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs), and Pharmacists. Other Notes for Candidate Screening:  Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary outpatient setting.  Oncology experience is highly preferred but not strictly required if infusion competencies are met
