Our client is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Millwork Estimator who will be responsible for analyzing architectural drawings and specifications and preparing accurate cost estimates for woodwork/millwork projects.
Our client is a full-service carpentry contractor, specializing in architectural woodwork, framing, finishes, ceilings, and drywall. They serve a wide range of industries in the New York City region, including healthcare, hospitality, and education.
Responsibilities:

Design and deliver presentations

Develop and present estimates

Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

Demonstrate knowledge in evaluating assemblies and components to determine accurate installation timelines and maintenance protocols

Stay current with woodworking and millwork techniques and trends

Gather data, compile information and disseminate

Provide technical guidance and/or supervision to architects and independent building contractors

Organize resources and establish priorities

Negotiate competitive bids, lump sum pricing, and time and material quotes

Make complex operational, administrative, and procedural decisions

Demonstrate ability to apply principles of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management

Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members
Requirements:

Experience: 8+ years Commercial Architectural Woodworking/Millwork background

Technical Interest: Estimating software - Quick Bid/On-Screen Takeoff, Microvellum

Organization & Integrity: Knowledge of the operating practices of construction, architectural, and building firms, Excellent communication, High degree of professionalism, Ability to Multi-task, Strong leadership skills.
