For more than 50 years, Gowanda Electronics has been a leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of precision electronic components for RF, microwave, and power applications. Components include standard off-the-shelf and custom-designed inductors, chips, chokes, coils, conicals, toroids, transformers, and magnetic devices in surface mount and axial-leaded (thru-hole) configurations that are used in a wide variety of electronic applications around the world. The company offers RoHS-compliant products as well as lead-containing components for QPL military/defense and other demanding requirements. Non-magnetic inductors are also available for situations where magnetic components would compromise system performance, as in medical imaging (MRI) equipment.

Position Summary:

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the production facility and ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They will work closely with the General Manager to maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations
  • Escalate complex issues to the General Manager
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Partner with the General Manager to implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop production staff
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Commit to facility safety procedures
  • Utilize current systems and processes tracking and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Partner with Human Resources to address employee issues
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar supervisory role. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business administration or related field.

Experience in a union facility preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success.
  • Knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software (ex: SAP, ERP, CRM)

Are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable on a weekly basis, when out on the production floor. May be exposed to chemicals and fumes when on the production floor. Will be required to wear PPE in designated areas.
