JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Shift Supervision, the Residential Aide is the primary connection between the operations staff and the residents. The Residential Aide will spend a large amount of time with the residents. Focusing on helping clients who need more hands on assistance.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform daily room and bed inspections.
- Pack up and log items for AWOL residents.
- Prepare beds and rooms for new arrivals.
- Escort residents to appointments.
- Assist in the monitoring and development of resident’s independent living skills
- Create progress notes detailing interactions with residents
- Conduct intakes with new residents
- Safeguard all confidential information for residents including demographic information, services, needs, actions and personal information.
- Perform nightly bed counts efficient and accurately.
- Serve as back up coverage for kitchen staff.
- Conflict resolution between residents.
- Create incident reports clearly detailing all events.
- Provide backup coverage for operations desk as needed.
- Log all events and visitors in the daily logbook
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the building
- Serve meals to residents in accordance with food management protocols
- Monitor common areas to ensure proper usage
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor
- Prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner attend mandatory staff meetings
- Other duties in keeping with the scope and nature of the position
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma required.
- Associates Degree preferred
- Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols preferred
- Food Handler’s certificate
- Fire safety coordinator certification
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and safeguard resident’s confidential information
- Basic computer literacy
