Maintenance / Janitor
Monday-Friday- 6:00am-2:30pm
Pay Rate: $17 an hour

Job Overview: As a Janitor, you play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for employees, visitors, and customers within the organization. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

1. Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and other common areas regularly.
2. Wipe down and disinfect surfaces, door handles, and high-touch areas to maintain a hygienic environment.

Trash Removal:

1. Empty and replace trash bags in waste receptacles.
2. Dispose of trash and recyclables in designated areas.

Floor Care:

1. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, and common areas.
2. Clean and maintain carpets by vacuuming and using carpet cleaning equipment as needed.

Window and Glass Cleaning:

1. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
2. Ensure a streak-free and polished appearance.

Dusting and Polishing:

1. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
2. Wipe down desks, chairs, and other office furniture.

Restocking Supplies:

1. Monitor and replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
2. Inform the appropriate personnel when supplies are running low.

Outdoor Maintenance:

1. Sweep entryways and outdoor areas.
2. Remove debris from sidewalks and parking areas.

Equipment Operation:

1. Operate and maintain janitorial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
2. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.

Reporting Issues:

1. Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate department.
2. Notify supervisors of any health or safety hazards.

Adherence to Safety Guidelines:

1. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
2. Use personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in performing tasks.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

• Strong work ethic and commitment to cleanliness.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
